MEET JENNIFER GESUALDI
WORKER'S COMPENSATION DEPARTMENT HEAD AT BROOKS LAW

Jennifer Gesualdi
Worker's Compensation Department Head
The daughter of Argentinian immigrants, Jennifer Gesualdi is a lifelong Spanish speaker who focuses a large portion of her practice on representing Hispanic workers in Social Security and workers’ compensation claims.
Gesualdi’s parents settled in New Jersey, where she was born and raised. By the time she was in college at the University of Florida, Gesualdi already felt a commitment to serve Spanish-speaking communities. She volunteered in English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for undocumented farmworkers while she was in college.
After she graduated in 2012 with a B.A. in history, Gesualdi headed back to the New York area and took a job as a paralegal in a New Jersey law firm, where she went on to handle the Social Security department.
Convinced that she wanted to become a lawyer after two years there, Gesualdi enrolled at Brooklyn Law School, where she continued to serve the Hispanic community. She served on the Immigrant Visa Assistance Project, which assists immigrant crime victims, as well as on the Safe Harbor Project, where she was a student intern representing asylum-seekers.
She also interned at the Social Security Administration’s Region II office in the New York area the summer after her first year of law school. The next summer she interned at the U.S. Department of the Interior’s office in Newton, Mass. After receiving her J.D., she joined Brooks Law in the spring of 2017.
Gesualdi concentrates her practice on Social Security and workers’ compensation, along with some personal injury cases. She appears frequently on behalf of her clients at administrative law proceedings, and also serves as a much-needed bilingual counselor who will answer clients’ questions and convey their wishes.
“I feel that I can very accurately represent what my clients want and that I can communicate things to them very clearly,” she says. “I feel great that I’m able to do that.”
“What I really like is that there’s something new every day. Every situation is different. I particularly enjoy when I have a chance to apply my knowledge and do something for my clients that they are unable to do on their own.”
Gesualdi currently lives in Somerville and enjoys being part of greater Boston’s lively Argentine tango-dancing community.
